Hi, I have been using Cach'eye successfully on an older PC, running Internet explorer 7, for over a year. This version is now becoming obsolete, as was my PC! I have recently upgraded my PC, and installed Internet Explorer 9, and now find that although I can log onto the Cach'eye site, I can't launch the maps. When I click on the launch maps button, I get a Windows security pop up window asking for my username and password. I type these in, tick the box to remember my credentials, and click the ok box..... and the same pop up window reappears with the password field blank. The same happens when I open Cach'eye using Google Chrome. Please help!!

If you log in to an account

If you log in to an account at http://www.cacheye.org and then use the link to the map belonging to this account http://username.cacheye.org a second login is required.
Username and password are the same for this two logins.

We tried to reproduce this

We tried to reproduce this problem:
We upgraded a IE8 to IE9,
logged in to an account at www.cacheye.org and then
started the map with the "Launch"-button.
There is no way to see the problem told here!
The only way to get the security window to pop up again was to type in a wrong username/password combination.

I thought the same too, but

I thought the same too, but after several attempts of inputting the required info very carefully to ensure I got it right, I still had the same problem! Interesting to see that I'm not the only one to have experienced this!

Exactly the same thing

Exactly the same thing happens for me and I can't find a way around it. If you hear of anything please update this thread.

Launching maps

I have finally found out where I have been going wrong. Because I hadn' t logged in for so long as my PC remembered my username and password, I had forgotten that your username has to be in lowercase! I have just read the post by casualmongoose, which confirms this. Hope this helps shanghaijoe.
