About Geocaching
Geocaching is a GPS-based form of treasure hunting for modern treasure hunters. Find treasures, experience fun and excitement, and explore nature.
How does geocaching work?
Someone hides a treasure (cache), records its coordinates and publishes them with a short description on the internet. Another geocacher can now search it with a GPS device. The treasure is a box with a logbook which you can sign into as a successful finder. The treasure often contains small trade items.
You can find caches in various locations – at monuments, in parks, on the top of a mountain – almost everywhere there’s something to explore. The description of the cache gives you interesting information about the surrounding area. So you even get to know exciting new places or see familiar places in a different light on your way to the treasure.
